The best way to add rails to your 2001 F-250 is the Demco 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitches # DM6140. This drops into the B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch giving you industry standard rails. There are some limitations, mostly pertaining to sliding hitches, which I will add below.
Do not use this adapter with the Demco Hijacker Autoslide hitch or any other automatic sliding fifth-wheel trailer hitch.
Do not use this adapter with a B & W Patriot slider fifth-wheel... view full answer...
Gen-Y does offer a fifth wheel pin box to gooseneck coupler that can fit in place of the Lippert Turning Point pin box with the part # GY48GR. At this time they do not offer a pin box replacement (no gooseneck adapter) that can fit in place of the Turning Point. view full answer...
I am sure there is but I would need to see the sticker on your 5th wheel's pin box. It'll have a SN, an RPO number, or an LCI number. This information will allow me to call Lippert and identify what bolt pattern your pin box has so I can find the right replacement part.
For example the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel Pin Box item # GY46FR fits a Lippert 1621 bolt pattern which is pretty common amongst newer RV's.
If you could email me a picture of that sticker I would be more then... view full answer...
The Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # C16411-204 will not fit your 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 as you already have the Rails # C60604 for a gooseneck hitch installed where the rail brackets mount. If you have the Double Lock # C607-604 you can use the Adapter # C16210 for using a 5th wheel hitch. view full answer...
Hi Tony; that's a good question and unequivocally the better option is the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ S20 Slider # C55DR.
This will not only give you extra height, but won't void the warranty on your trailer frame like the Convert-A-Ball adapter does, gives you better turning clearance, and is just a more secure overall set up than what is essentially two different adapters.
The # C55DR is also just a really good hitch overall with a superb interlocking jaw system for a tight... view full answer...
Hey Trevor, so the B and W Companion Slider hitch part # BWRVK3400 only fits the B and W Turnoverball gooseneck hitches and would not fit the gooseneck hitch of your 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 with OEM pucks.
The funny thing about the Patriot slider is that it's only hitch that can't be used with any OEM bed rail adapters either so we're back to the Companion hitch that fits the pucks directly part # BWRVK3775 as your best option. view full answer...
Whille the Blue Ox Fifth wheel hitch BXR2100 our part # BLU52XR was not designed to provide additional turning clearance I looked up your Grand Design 150 Series Model 260RD and since it has a tapered nose and an extended pin box you would be able to make tight turns with the setup you mentioned. view full answer...
Hi Ken,
To determine the correct Gen-Y Gooseneck Pin Box for your 2022 Forest River Sierra Luxury 321RL fifth wheel you'll first need to determine your trailer's bolt pattern and pin weight. There should be a sticker somewhere on your pin box that lists a serial number, RPO number, and LCI item number that we can use to determine the bolt pattern. You'll also want to weigh your pin weight while fully loaded. The specs for the trailer show a pin weight of 1,710lbs so you'd likely be around... view full answer...
Hey Samuel, the Blue Ox Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BLU52XR is not compatible with the overbed style folding gooseneck balls. The overbed plate would prevent the base from making full contact with the bed of the truck. Blue Ox is very specific that the base must make full contact with the bed in order to use the adapter.
An adapter that will be compatible with the overbed folding gooseneck ball is the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter # AM3100.... view full answer...
Hey Thomas, so B and W does have a fifth wheel hitch that fits the Reese above bed rails you have in the bed of your truck but the Companion that you mentioned does not as it only fits into B and W Turnoverball gooseneck hitches.
So instead what you would want is the B and W Patriot fifth wheel hitch part # BWRVK3255 which does fit to the Reese rails you have now. view full answer...
Hi James,
Since your 2005 Ford F-250 has the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1108, you can either use a gooseneck to 5th wheel adapter, or the Companion hitch. If you already have a 5th wheel hitch that fits standard rails you would just need the Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitches # 16310.
Or you can just use the Companion, with the right one depending on if you have a short bed or not and need a sliding hitch.... view full answer...
The only thing like that I'm aware of is the B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3500. The only caveat is that it exclusively works with the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit # BWGNRK1313.
So, the only way you'd be able to do what you're wanting to do is to install the Turnoverball mentioned above, and then use the B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3500. view full answer...
The base on the # DM8550045 is completely different from the # DM8550046 so you can't simply add on the adapter for the recessed ball. However, you can swap out the base with # DM6316 and use your existing head which will save money over replacing the entire thing. view full answer...
Hey there Randy, thanks for the question and all you need to do is replace the base of your B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3400-5W to one that fits the puck system of your 2022 Ram 3500 long bed. So the only thing you need is the following:
- Replacement Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram # BWRVB3600 view full answer...
Yes, it will! The Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter item # C32DR will indeed attach to the gooseneck ball of the Ram factory puck system. The CrossWing will give you a 9" offset that will push the connection point of your 5th wheel trailer's kingpin back 9" towards the tailgate. view full answer...
Unfortunately not James, the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # DM8550035 can not be used with the Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter for Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitches # C16210. view full answer...
Hey John,
The B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3500 has a square shank which is proprietary to B&W and would not fit in a round factory gooseneck hitch. If your F-350 came with the puck system/gooseneck hitch (total of 5 holes in the bed) then you could go with the B&W Companion OEM # BWRVK3300 and drop it into the pucks.
If it's just a standard gooseneck hitch then you can go with a hitch that mounts on a gooseneck ball like the Demco Recon 5th Wheel... view full answer...
Hey Rob,
Yes, the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # DM8550045 would be able to mount to the gooseneck ball in your B&W Turnoverball hitch. You'll just need to remove the coupler pin and drop the base of the hitch down on the hitch ball and then you can replace the pin. You will also need to tighten the bolts of the front of the hitch to fully secure it to the hitch ball and prevent rattling. view full answer...
Hi David; we do have an adapter that fits the puck system of your 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 that will allow you to use your Reese 5th wheel hitch. All you need is the following:
- Adapter Rails for Curt 5th Wheel Hitch - Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # C47BR
The title says "for Curt 5th Wheel Hitch" but it is not just for Curt 5th wheel hitches; your Reese hitch will 100% fit this adapter. view full answer...
The 16,000 lbs Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # RP30047 needs the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter item # RP30156 to attach to the Ford factory puck system. There are no special legs you can purchase to attach the hitch directly without the adapter. view full answer...
